ATN Angel: Taylor Davis

In celebration of ATN’s 2016 Angels in Adoption award, we’re profiling ATN members who have helped ATN win the award — and who have themselves been Angels to families and children.

Taylor DavisThinking about who has had the most impact on my life when it comes to understanding trauma & attachment…without a doubt it would be Taylor, my daughter, my inspiration, my angel.  I had no idea back in 1998 that this quiet little baby girl from a Russian orphanage would teach me the hardest lessons in life while teaching me the greatest joys of Motherhood.  Her pain became my pain, her struggles became my struggles, her fear became my fear.    Today I had an opportunity to listen to Taylor tell her story of what it feels like to be adopted and the struggles she’s had over the years.  I was so proud of her!  My heart was full as she talked of the importance of family.  Her healing may take a lifetime, but my fear for her future just got a little less scary today.  Proud Mom moment for sure.  And for those parenting kids from hard places, we don’t always have these moments.

ATN opened a door to knowledge that continually helps our family.  “Thank you” just doesn’t seem like enough to express our gratitude.
