ATN Members Recognized as Trailblazers in Trauma-Informed Schools

June 2017.  Melissa Sadin & Julie Beem were recognized on behalf of ATN’s Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools Program as “being a trauma-informed trailblazer and making a difference in the lives of children!” This recognition was presented at the first ever Trauma-Informed Schools Conference held in St. Louis June 12-13.  ATN was one of handful of organizations and individuals recognized for their early contribution to the trauma-informed schools movement.

The conference was a sold-out event with over 600 attendees.  Educators from across the country attended keynotes and workshops from Heather Forbes, Jim Sporleder, Howard Glasser and others.  ATN’s Melissa Sadin presented a workshop for administrators and school leaders about how to trauma-informed school districts from the top down – with ideas on policy change and system-wide implementation.
