Julie Michelle Henderson

Meet Julie Michelle

Julie Michelle Henderson is the Trauma-Sensitive Schools Coordinator at ATN and attends the University of Texas at Arlington where she is earning a Masters Degree in Social Work. She is the single mom of five children (ages 13-23), three biological and two adopted, and lives in North Richland Hills, Texas.

During the adoption of her youngest daughter, Julie found ATN at their amazing retreat for parents where she learned about attachment theory and trauma-informed parenting. After bringing this knowledge to her first grade classroom, she witnessed instant and far-reaching results that led her to join ATN as a volunteer with the Trauma-Sensitive Schools program.

Julie is devoted to helping educators implement trauma-informed strategies and see their students succeed in school and life. She is passionate about changing policies that created the school-to-prison pipeline and mass incarceration. Her background in social work and public education provides a unique perspective for supporting teachers, administrators, and parents.
