Lauren is a licensed professional counselor who has focused her twenty-year career studying the impacts of early childhood trauma and attachment disruptions on the developing mind. She is the director of a child and family therapy center at a nonprofit organization in New Jersey and holds the title of the organization’s Trauma Informed Care Coordinator, offering education to staff, consumers and community partners about the impacts of trauma and the crucial task of practicing self-care. Prior to her current role, Lauren recognized the significant need for in-person support for children at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and opened a private practice that remains in operation today.
Lauren works directly with children affected by trauma and their families to help them navigate the complexities that come with each new phase of life. Lauren firmly believes in the power of consistency and connection with a struggling child to foster a healing sense of felt safety. She has received extensive training in therapeutic modalities such as EMDR and sand play therapy.
Lauren currently resides in New Jersey with her husband, three children and their golden retriever.
