Julie Beem: Why ATN Cares about Trauma-Informing Schools

In 2014, the Attachment & Trauma Network (ATN) held our first Educating Traumatized Children’s Summit as a way to pull together the pockets of expertise across the country in trauma-sensitive schools practices. Over the last 2-1/2 years, the movement has significantly grown and so has ATN’s involvement in creating Trauma Sensitive Schools. Join Julie as she walks through why ATN, an organization traditionally focused on the parents and families of traumatized children, has been compelled to develop a trauma-informed schools program and create this new 2017 Educating Traumatized Children’s Summit. She’ll describe how educators who were also ATN members have been connected by our network and combined their passion and energy to help schools and teachers across the country.
